# New Multichain Balances API

Introducing the new GoldRush Multichain Balances API where you can fetch paginated spot & historical native and token balances for a single address on up to 10 EVM chains with one API call.

Some key points to note:

* The pagination method used for this API are **cursors** . Note the response includes the following cursor specific fields:
  * `cursor_before` - fetch token balances before a certain point in the response.
  * The values of these fields can be passed as query params to scroll through the token balances using `before={cursor_before}`.

* If `cursor_before=null` , you have reached the first page of the token balances list.

* ALL supported chains can be passed in the `chains=` query param (both chain names and ID’s are supported) up to a maximum of 10 chains.

* When no chains are specified, the API defaults to use the [Foundational Chains](https://goldrush.dev/chains/).

* ERC20 token spam filtering is currently not supported but will be added. In the response, `is_spam` will always default to `false`.

* When the `cutoff-timestamp` query param is passed, the balance snapshot will be from the nearest block *before* the specified cutoff time.
