Introduction

Welcome to the GoldRush Q2 Product Update! This quarter, we've been hard at work rolling out some highly anticipated features and enhancements to make your development experience smoother and more efficient. From improved NFT APIs to powerful new decoders and expanded marketplace offerings, we’re excited to share how these updates can help you elevate your projects. As always, we’re dedicated to providing the best tools for developers, and we're thrilled to see how you’ll leverage these new capabilities.

Important Update: As part of our commitment to enhancing our offerings and clarifying our brand identity, we have rebranded Covalent to "GoldRush." This change separates our network from our suite of data products, which are now solely referred to as GoldRush. The GoldRush suite, including our unified APIs, SDKs, and other tools, will now operate under goldrush.dev. We believe this change will help streamline our services and improve user experience.

Please note - the “What’s Next” section is subject to change based on several factors, including consumer demand, user feedback and market conditions. We are actively working towards these goals, but priorities can shift based on what is best for the company and our overall vision.

NFT Thumbnails and Blurred Previews

What Shipped: Big enhancements to the NFT API, including new features like enhanced thumbnails and blurred previews, as well as detailed asset insights. These upgrades aim to improve the visual presentation and functionality of NFTs across various platforms.

Why This Matters: These enhancements address common pain points for developers in the NFT space, such as manual image resizing and inconsistent previews. By offering optimized thumbnails and blurred previews, the API helps create a more engaging user experience with faster load times and better visual appeal. Additionally, the detailed asset insights allow for more visually cohesive and customized user interfaces, boosting both the functionality and aesthetics of NFT applications.

What’s Next: Developers should start integrating these new features into their NFT projects to enhance user engagement and streamline their workflows. Explore the enhanced thumbnails and previews available across all NFT endpoints that return metadata. Feedback and support are encouraged to further refine and optimize these tools.

GoldRush Decoders

DFK Decoders

What Shipped: Event decoders for Defi-Kingdoms (DFK) targeting Pet feeding and Hero contracts, including specific events like PetFed, AuctionCreated, AuctionCancelled, and AuctionSuccessful. The decoders provide human-readable data for all token transactions and NFTs involved.

Why This Matters: These decoders enable users to easily understand and access detailed information about their in-game activities, improving the user experience by making transaction data more transparent and accessible. This is particularly beneficial for players who engage heavily with the in-game economy and need to track their assets and actions accurately.

What’s Next: Developers and users can start leveraging these decoders to enhance their in-game tracking and management of assets. Feedback and further refinements will be essential to ensure all relevant events are covered and accurately decoded.

Renzo Decoders

What Shipped: Event decoders for Renzo, a liquid restaking token and strategy manager for EigenLayer. The decoders cover events for Renzo Restake Manager and EigenLayer Strategy Manager, specifically focusing on deposit and withdrawal events.

Why This Matters: These decoders simplify the process of monitoring and managing staking activities by providing clear, human-readable data on deposits and withdrawals. This streamlines the management of staking strategies, making it easier for users to optimize their participation in EigenLayer.

What’s Next: Users and developers should start using these decoders to better track and manage their staking activities. Further enhancements and feedback will help to cover any additional events and improve the overall utility of the decoders.

Wormhole Decoders

What Shipped: Event decoders for Wormhole, a cross-chain communication protocol. The decoders support events for the Portal Bridge and ETH-Core smart contracts and are compatible with various chains listed in the provided configuration file.

Why This Matters: Wormhole decoders enable users to track and understand cross-chain transactions more effectively. By decoding events related to the Portal Bridge and ETH-Core, these tools help users manage and monitor their cross-chain activities with greater ease and transparency.

What’s Next: Developers should integrate these decoders to facilitate better cross-chain transaction management. Continued updates and user feedback will ensure that the decoders remain comprehensive and accurate across all supported chains.

Pendle and Connext

What Shipped: Combined insights from Renzo, Pendle, and Connext, which have interdependent functions. A single call to a Renzo event now provides details on underlying transactions involving these protocols.

Why This Matters: This integration significantly reduces the complexity and workload involved in tracking interdependent protocol activities. Users benefit from a streamlined process that aggregates data from multiple protocols into a single, coherent view, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in transaction management.

What’s Next: Users should begin utilizing these integrated insights to simplify their workflow and gain a comprehensive view of their transactions. Continuous refinement and expansion of these integrations will further enhance their utility and user experience.

Launch on Quicknode Marketplace

What Shipped: GoldRush has launched its suite of structured data tools on the QuickNode Marketplace, including various APIs (Transactions, Wallet, NFT, Blockchain, Cross-Chain Activity, Security) and the GoldRush Kit for frontend development.

Why This Matters: This integration enhances developers' ability to access and utilize comprehensive onchain data seamlessly through QuickNode’s infrastructure. It simplifies the development process for blockchain applications by providing reliable, vetted tools in a single interface, ultimately boosting efficiency and performance for projects ranging from wallet applications to DeFi protocols and NFT collections.

What’s Next: Developers can start exploring and using GoldRush's add-ons via the QuickNode Marketplace, selecting appropriate plans and integrating these tools into their projects. Continued improvements and iterations on these APIs will likely follow, alongside expanded support and resources to help developers maximize the potential of their blockchain applications.

Conclusion

As we wrap up the GoldRush Q2 Product Update, we're excited to share a sneak peek of what's coming next quarter. We're gearing up to fully release two major enhancements currently in the labs phase.

First up is the addition of tracing data to the API, which will provide developers with detailed insights into internal transactions and state changes. This means better transparency and improved ability to debug and optimize smart contract interactions.

Secondly, we're introducing support for Bitcoin xPub addresses. This is a big step forward, offering comprehensive tools to monitor and manage Bitcoin transactions across multiple addresses derived from a single xPub.

These upcoming features highlight our commitment to expanding our capabilities and delivering powerful, innovative tools for developers. We can’t wait to see these enhancements move out of labs and into full deployment, unlocking their full potential for blockchain data analytics. Stay tuned!
